Lakako uses a public API (application programming interface) from companies like: Facebook, Instagram, Google+ etc. This is essentially our computer accessing information from their computer that these companies make public.
So if your information is not marked as private, these various APIs will be able to access your information. We have also seen instances where a "private" user will follow a "public" user which then makes that private users information accessible to others.
We would caution anyone who uses the internet, and social media to not place information on any website or application you do not want to end up public.
